The Department of Justice (DOJ) received special recognition at the Presidential and National Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorism Financing Coordinating Committee (NACC) Recognition Ceremony on May 5, 2025, at MalacaƱang Palace in Manila, for its instrumental role in the Philippines' successful removal from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) greylist.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. personally presented the Certificate of Commendation to Secretary of Justice Jesus Crispin C. Remulla and Undersecretary Jesse Hermogenes T. Andres, acknowledging their leadership and strategic guidance in enhancing the country's anti-money
laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF) framework.


Under Secretary Remulla's guidance, the DOJ implemented significant institutional reforms that effectively addressed the FATF action plan. In particular, DOJ Circular No. 20 established protocols for inter-agency cooperation, while DOJ Circular No. 30 improved coordination among regional law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies. Additionally, several prosecutors were honored with the Plaque of Recognition for their vital contributions to the DOJ's AML/CTF initiatives: - Sr. Deputy State Prosecutor Peter L. Ong - Deputy State Prosecutor Deana P. Perez - Sr. Asst. State Prosecutor Rassendell Rex F. Gingoyon - Sr. Asst. State Prosecutor Katheryn May C. Penaco-Roxas - Asst. State Prosecutor Angelica A. Laygo-Francisco - Asst. State Prosecutor Peachy Anne C. Apolo-Imperio - Undersecretary Jesse Hermogenes T. Andres, who also received a Certificate of Commendation These awards highlight the DOJ's leading role in ensuring adherence to international standards, promoting prosecution-led financial investigations, and protecting the integrity of the Philippine financial system.
