It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Salim Bamerni, a cherished member of our Kurdish community in Calgary.

Salim had been valiantly fighting cancer for an extended period, and today he has found peace. We hope he is now in a better place, free from suffering and at rest. We ask for strength and patience for his family, friends, and all of us in the Kurdish community during this challenging time. The funeral prayer will be held this Friday at Akram Jomaa Mosque, and all are invited to attend and pay their respects. Let us unite in remembrance and honor Salim's life and legacy by sharing stories, memories, and condolences with his loved ones. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to the Calgary Cancer Centre in Salim's name to aid in the battle against this devastating illness. We will profoundly miss Salim's warm smile, kindness, and commitment to our community. May he always remain in our hearts and memories.
