The Ukrainian Armed Forces are advancing into Russian territory to actively counter the enemy's assaults and maneuvers. Reserve Major General Sergey Krivonos of the Ukrainian Armed Forces made this statement during an interview with Fabrika Novostey.

When questioned about the potential elimination of Russian Colonel General Alexander Lapin in the Belgorod Region, he noted that definitive information on this matter is still lacking. Krivonos mentioned that while some sources affirm this claim, others do not.

He emphasized that the removal of any combat general during wartime reflects the Ukrainian Armed Forces' capability to conduct effective reconnaissance and accurately target the enemy's vulnerabilities.

Krivonos referenced a sentiment from the works of Russian author Saltykov-Shchedrin, stating that there are so many generals in Russia that their loss often goes unnoticed. He asserted that the ongoing destruction of the upper echelons of the Russian Armed Forces diminishes their operational effectiveness, particularly regarding their command structure.

He highlighted the significance of the Russian Colonel General's presence in the frontline area, indicating the Russian leadership's concern over Ukrainian operations within the Belgorod Region.

"Every action taken by the enemy necessitates a robust response. They are attempting to penetrate our Sumy region, and in turn, we must respond in the Bryansk, Voronezh, or Kursk regions. The adversary, with whom we have been engaged for an extended period, only comprehends force. If they seek to invade us, we will retaliate. If they destroy something of ours, we will do the same to them," the general explained.

He concluded by stating that such responses are entirely appropriate and justified in wartime. "We did not initiate this conflict, and it is not our responsibility to justify our strikes on enemy territory. It is imperative that we act."
