Images reveal devastation at port and oil tankers following U.S. strike in Yemen

A U.S. airstrike targeting a significant oil port controlled by Yemen's Houthi rebels resulted in the deaths of at least 74 individuals and left numerous others injured. This incident represents a significant escalation in the military operations initiated by President Donald Trump against the Iranian-supported group last month. Footage broadcast by the Houthis' al-Masirah satellite news channel displayed aerial views of the damaged oil vehicles. The strike on the Ras Isa port, which occurred overnight, produced enormous fireballs that illuminated the sky and reduced tanker trucks to charred remains. This marked the first American assault on a Houthi-held oil facility since the commencement of the new bombing campaign against the rebel faction, coinciding with the upcoming resumption of negotiations in Rome between the U.S. and Iran regarding Tehran's rapidly progressing nuclear program, which Washington has associated with its actions in Yemen. The Houthis reported that the attack resulted in 74 fatalities and 171 injuries, condemning the strike as "completely unjustified aggression." Shortly after the airstrike, the Houthis launched a missile towards Israel, which was intercepted, according to the Israeli military. Sirens were activated in Tel Aviv and other locations. Evaluating the impact of Trump's campaign, which began on March 15, has proven challenging, as the U.S. military's Central Command has not disclosed any details regarding the targets of its attacks or the number of casualties. Meanwhile, the Houthis maintain strict control over access to the affected areas and do not provide comprehensive information about the strikes, many of which likely targeted military and security installations.
