Nigeria Customs Confiscates N125 Million in Smuggled Petrol in Kebbi

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has successfully seized 125,000 liters of smuggled Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) valued at N125 million in Kebbi State. 

During a press conference in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday, the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, announced the seizure, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria. 

Adeniyi, who was represented by the National Coordinator of Operation Whirlwind, ACG Husseini Ejibunu, credited the operation's success to reliable intelligence provided by the Customs Intelligence Unit (CIU). 

He noted that the Tsamiya area of Kebbi had been monitored for several days prior to the interception of three Scania trucks, which were found transporting the smuggled fuel in collaboration with the Kebbi Area Command and the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) 'B'. 

"We intercepted three Scania trucks carrying smuggled PMS, all registered in the Republic of Benin," he stated.
