A man from Calgary is facing 11 criminal charges following the seizure of firearm

A man from Calgary is facing 11 criminal charges following the seizure of several firearms and drugs from a residence in the Lynnwood community earlier this month.


Authorities initiated an investigation after receiving reports of suspected drug-related activities at a home where a young child was thought to be present.

On Friday, March 14, 2025, law enforcement executed several search warrants, leading to the arrest of an individual and the confiscation of the following items:
- A 12-gauge breacher shotgun with its serial number removed
- A .22 caliber rifle, accompanied by ammunition
- 25 grams of cocaine
- 10 grams of methamphetamine

The child was not at the location during the execution of the warrants and is currently safe.

Mitchell Scott WOODS, 32, faces charges including five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of the proceeds of crime, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, and one count of possession of a firearm with an altered serial number.

WOODS is set to appear in court again on Monday, March 31, 2025.
