Children residing farther from urban centers face an increased risk of developmental challenges. The dedicated team of pediatric clinicians at Royal Far West—including psychologists, nurses, dietitians, and speech pathologists—collaborates with partner organizations to eliminate obstacles to essential health services. They deliver crucial care to rural and remote children, fostering their development, mental well-being, and educational success—ultimately enhancing their outcomes and empowering them to lead fulfilling lives.

The Governor-General, alongside Jacqui Emery, CEO, and Jenny Stevenson, Head of Government Relations and Policy, visited NSW Parliament House in Sydney to experience a photographic exhibition that compellingly narrates the organization's journey of care and compassion—from its courageous and visionary inception as a source of hope in the bush in 1924 to its current role as an innovative and urgently needed specialist child development service. Presently, Royal Far West serves 3,000 children each year, spanning from Wilcannia, NSW, to Fitzroy Crossing, WA.
