Codiac Regional RCMP has announced the arrest of a 65-year-old Moncton resident in connection with a drug trafficking investigation. The arrest took place on March 5 along Mapleton Road, where officers also executed search warrants on the suspect's vehicle and a residence on Winnipeg Street.

During the searches, authorities seized items believed to include cocaine, oxycodone, hydromorphone, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and a significant amount of cash that remains undisclosed.

The individual has since been released and is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on July 8.

The investigation, which began on February 12, involved the Codiac RCMP's Crime Reduction Unit and the New Brunswick Integrated Enforcement Unit, focusing on illegal drug trafficking in the Moncton area.

Residents who have information about potential drug-related activity in their neighbourhood are encouraged to contact their local police.

The investigation is ongoing.
