I leave as leader of the Liberal Party with the same belief in hope and hard work as when I started.

Hope for this party and for this country, because of the millions of Canadians who prove every day that better is always possible.

I am stepping down as leader of the Liberal Party, holding onto the same belief in hope and hard work that inspired me from the very start.

My confidence in this party and in our nation remains strong, thanks to the millions of Canadians who, day in and day out, demonstrate that a brighter future for Canada is always within reach.
