Bilateral Cooperation: Mali Welcomes Ghana's President

On Saturday, March 8, 2025, Mali's Transitional President, His Excellency Army General Assimi GOITA, hosted his Ghanaian counterpart, President John Dramani Mahama, for a 24-hour visit focused on strengthening ties and fostering goodwill between the nations.

The Ghanaian presidential aircraft touched down at Modibo Keita-Senou International Airport precisely at 11:15 AM. As President Mahama disembarked, he received a warm welcome from General GOITA, embodying the spirit of African solidarity and respect.

Following the playing of both national anthems, the two leaders conducted a troop review and exchanged greetings with members of the diplomatic community and the Ghanaian diaspora in Mali.

After a brief meeting in the Presidential Pavilion, the two heads of state proceeded to the Koulouba Palace, where the formal agenda of the visit would unfold.

The discussions will include a private meeting between President GOITA and President Mahama, followed by a broader session with their respective teams. Key issues on the agenda include enhancing bilateral relations, security and economic collaboration, and addressing regional matters relevant to the Confederation of Sahel States (AES).
