A devastating wave of Russian strikes has left at least 20 people dead and dozens injured in Ukraine, according to Ukrainian officials. The strikes, which hit several regions including Donetsk and Kharkiv, have caused widespread destruction and chaos.¹ ²

The Ukrainian Interior Ministry reported that 11 people, including five children, were killed in the eastern city of Dobropillia, while three civilians were killed and seven wounded in a separate drone attack on the Kharkiv region. Eight residential buildings and an administrative building were also damaged in the strikes.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy condemned the attacks, stating that they demonstrate Russia's unchanged objectives. He emphasized the need to continue protecting lives, strengthening air defenses, and increasing sanctions against Russia.

The US has paused its intelligence sharing with Ukraine, which may undermine Ukraine's air defenses. The Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have intercepted 31 drones overnight, while Ukrainian forces reportedly damaged a Russian oil refinery.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in significant humanitarian and economic costs, with millions of people displaced and widespread destruction of infrastructure. The international community has called for a peaceful resolution to the conflict and an end to the violence.³
