An arrest warrant has been issued for a 33-year-old man from Ottawa who is awaiting sentencing for firearms trafficking and related offenses.

The Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit, led by the Ontario Provincial Police, released a statement on Thursday indicating that Kyanoush Rezaei did not appear in court for his sentencing and had removed his ankle monitor on March 3, discarding it along Highway 417.

Authorities suspect that he may have traveled to the Greater Toronto Area, Montreal, Cornwall, or Akwesasne, and there is a possibility that he attempted to cross into the United States.

The statement noted that he may be traveling in a black 2020 Land Rover Range Rover with an Ontario license plate, or potentially a white 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus with an unknown license plate.

Police believe that Rezaei has access to firearms and urge anyone who sees him to contact 911.
