Trump VP pick JD Vance says he's 'working-class boy' in convention speech

   Donald   Trump's  vice  presidential  nominee  JD Vance has   delivered  his first major speech since being   chosen  as the Republican   vice  presidential  nominee.
 
   In  his  speech  to the Republican   National  Convention  in Milwaukee, he described himself as a   "kid  of  the  working  class"  and   said  Donald   Trump's  policies will help   backward  voters,  but  "on  our  terms"  it's  not  a  good  idea.
 
   Her  mother, a former drug addict whose   problems  she  described in   her  best-selling   book  "Hillbilly  Elegy,"  received a standing ovation in the   hallway.
 
   The  speech  was   delivered  by his wife Usha Vance, the daughter of Indian immigrants, who acknowledged their   diverse  backgrounds.
 
   The speech   marks  the first time many Americans   have  heard  of  the 39-year-old from Ohio, the first millennial to join a presidential   bid.
 
   Trump's  son,  Donald Trump   Jr.,  spoke before   Vance  and was joined by his   17-year-old  daughter Kai,  who praised her   grandfather.
 
   Meanwhile,  President Joe Biden  paused   his  campaign  after testing positive for Covid, but the White House says he only has mild   symptoms.
