Although it's unclear what more, if anything, Canada and Mexico could do to curb the flow of fentanyl and illegal immigration into the United States, he says the tariffs are intended to force them to do so. Actually, Trump is just imposing these charges because he believes that his xenophobic base will find it difficult, and he has somehow persuaded himself that foreigners, not American customers, pay the levies. There will be severe economic repercussions, which may cause the US to enter a deep recession. The cost of everything will increase, despite MAGA voters' desire for cheaper food.
