VIA Rail operates Canada's longest rail line, the Trans-Canadian, which runs side by side across the nation between the cities of Vancouver on the west coast and Toronto on the east. Approximately 4,466 km are covered in this journey, which passes through a variety of areas and stunning scenery, including the Rocky Mountains, the grasslands of Manitoba and Saskatchewan, the woods of Ontario, and the northern lakes.
