The Ukrainian people are battling to remind the world that democracy is powerful enough to prevail and significant enough to die for. Today, I travelled to Kyiv to meet with @zelenskyy_official and demonstrate Canada's unwavering support for Ukraine. 🌨🇨🇦

I announced Canada's pledge to support Ukraine in establishing enduring peace and defending its sovereignty this afternoon in Kyiv: → An additional 25 VBL III infantry combat vehicles. Ukrainian military will receive training in Germany using two Canadian-made armoured combat support vehicles. Four flying simulators of the F-16. ← The initial payment of a Canadian loan to Ukraine, funded by Russian assets that have been blocked. ← More backing for energy security in the wake of Russia's repeated assaults on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. → Millions of new first aid kits, protection gear, and ammo. The rules-based international order is being directly violated by Russia's actions. The response of the democracies must be forceful and unambiguous.
