Japanese email exchange between H.E. Cho Tae-yul and Hon. Marco Rubio and Min. Iwaya Perspective on the Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Japan, the United States, and the Republic of Korea H.E. IWAYA Takeshi, Japan's Foreign Minister, who was visiting Germany (Munich), held a Japan-U.S.-Republic of Korea (ROK) Foreign Ministers' Meeting with the Honourable Marco Rubio, Secretary of State of the United States of America, and H.E. Cho Tae-yul, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, on February 15 starting at 3:15 p.m. (local time, February 15, 11:15 p.m. Japan time), lasting roughly 45 minutes. The following is a summary of the meeting. The Joint Statement of Japan-U.S.-ROK Trilateral Foreign Ministers was issued following the meeting. The three Ministers agreed that, given the escalating severity of security environment that the three nations encounter, bolstering their unity and promoting tangible collaboration will improve their deterrent and reaction capacities in the direction of regional and global peace and prosperity. In addition to expressing their grave concerns about North Korea's nuclear and missile programs, the development of military cooperation between Russia and North Korea, and its malicious cyber activities that finance these programs, including cryptocurrency theft, the three ministers reaffirmed their commitment to close collaboration on these issues. In compliance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council, they also reiterated their commitment to the full denuclearization of North Korea.
