Nasdaq futures  fell 430 points, threatening to wipe  out $1 trillion in  stock market value,  as DeepSeek's efficient AI model  challenges U.S. tech  dominance.
The Chinese  startup's ability to run advanced  artificial intelligence on  commodity chips  has knocked Nvidia and other AI leaders  off the map.
The sell-off  is intensifying pressure on U.S. tech stocks  that are already trading at premium valuations, with  the Nasdaq 100  trading at  27 times forward earnings versus  24 times its three-year average.
