Starting  in May 2025, Canadians  will need to obtain an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) before  traveling to EU  countries. The system aims to  improve security at European  borders.
!
Similar to the U.S. ESTA, ETIAS tracks visitors from countries that  do not require a traditional visa to enter the Schengen  area.
!
The new visa will be required for travel to  the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus*,  Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein,  Lithuania. , Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain,  Sweden and  Switzerland.

Stay informed and  prepared in advance!
