TUCSON, AZ (AZFamily)  - The White House said Friday that deportation flights have  begun and some  are in Tucson.

Dozens of  locals were  placed on the plane,  carrying water bottles and their belongings. The C-17 pilot  returned to  Guatemala.

Other flights  are coming from El Paso,  Texas.
According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, so far this week, 538 people have been arrested for being in the country illegally and  373 people have been  arrested on immigration  charges. On Friday morning, White House press secretary  Caroline Leavitt shared photos of military flights being used for  deportations on X, formerly known as Twitter.

On Monday, President Donald Trump declared a national emergency  at the southern border,  sending 1,500 active-duty troops to the border.
The  Defense Department said Wednesday it  is providing military  aircraft to help the Department of Homeland Security deport more than 5,000 illegal immigrants from San Diego, California, and El Paso  who are already  being held by CBP.
