The first  aircraft produced in Tanzania  was the Skyleader 600, manufactured by Airplanes Africa Limited  (AAL)
The Skyleader 600 is  a two-passenger luxury model designed for business travelers.  It is known for its modern design,  affordable price and low maintenance  costs.
The Skyleader 500 is  an economical model designed for agricultural activities in rural  areas.
AAL is  located in Morogoro, Tanzania and employs Tanzanian and Czech staff. The company also has a simulator for the Skyleader 600 to help  train pilots. The Skyleader 600s  represent a milestone for local manufacturing in Tanzania. The country's  favorable investment environment and  Tanzania's willingness to  adopt new technologies and skills have contributed to the  project's success.
