In northeast Calgary, a shooting claims one life.

After a gunshot in northeast Calgary on Friday night, one person is dead.

The incident took place at a residence in the 200 block of Homestead Drive N.E. at approximately 7:20 p.m.

A male was discovered deceased, according to the police.

EMS confirms that they made one death declaration on the spot.

According to EMS, there were no more patients.

Investigators, including homicide investigators, were on the scene far into the evening.

CCTV footage and witness testimony were gathered from the incident.

Much of the roadway and an alleyway were blocked off by police.

Authorities said they think the act was intentional and are currently looking for suspects.
