The 2025 International Youth Day Summit, hosted by the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, provided a platform for stakeholders to highlight the pivotal role that young people play in shaping the future. At the forefront of this agenda is the THEMES+ initiative, which prioritizes youth empowerment and social inclusion. Through programs such as the Amplifier Business Clinic and Pitch Contest, young entrepreneurs are equipped with the necessary mentorship, training, and financial support to transform their ideas into tangible realities. Furthermore, international collaborations, including the Lagos State Youth Study Tour to Queen's University in Canada, offer a unique opportunity for cross-cultural learning and personal growth.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu took the occasion to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of young people to the state's development, praising their creativity, resilience, and determination. Recognizing the youth as a vital component of Lagos's vibrancy, the Governor reaffirmed the administration's dedication to creating a conducive environment that allows young individuals to thrive.

As Lagos continues to evolve, the role of the youth in driving this growth is unequivocal. The state's ongoing development is, in large part, attributed to the energy, ideas, and enthusiasm of its young population. With a steadfast commitment to working collaboratively towards a brighter future, the government remains poised to harness the potential of the youth, ensuring that their voices are heard and their aspirations are supported. By doing so, Lagos is well-positioned to unlock the full potential of its most valuable resource – its young people – and create a prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable future for all.
