The Nigerian military's Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI has successfully conducted multiple operations against Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorist groups in Borno and Yobe States. These efforts have resulted in significant casualties for the terrorists and the seizure of their arms and equipment.

At Kumshe in Borno State, the troops of the 21 Special Armoured Brigade faced a night assault on their Forward Operating Base by a large contingent of terrorists. With the support of the Nigerian Air Force, the attack was repulsed, and the terrorists suffered heavy losses. Post-engagement reconnaissance showed over 20 enemy bodies buried in shallow graves, with additional casualties likely from aerial bombardments.

Simultaneously, Sector 1 troops encountered Boko Haram/JAS elements at Dipchari near Banki Junction in Bama Local Government Area. After a fierce firefight, numerous terrorists were killed and two AK-47 rifles, two magazines filled with 7.62mm special ammunition, and two motorcycles were recovered.

In Yobe State, Sector 2 troops, collaborating with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), executed a long-range operation in the Ndoksa area near Buni Gari. This operation led to the deaths of several terrorists and the capture of one AK-47 rifle and two motorcycles.

These coordinated efforts have effectively curtailed the terrorists' movement and logistics within the region, demonstrating the military's commitment to combating insurgency and ensuring security for the local populace. The military high command has praised the troops for their valor and has encouraged them to maintain the intensity of their operations to further degrade the enemy's capabilities.

The continued success of these operations highlights the Nigerian military's effectiveness in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign and underscores the importance of collaboration between military forces and local civilian defense groups in the fight against insurgency.
