The Alberta Civil Liberties Research Centre announces the appointment of Cam Stewart as its new Executive Director, effective Monday, August 18, 2025.

Cam's experience in strategic planning, organizational change, and human rights will contribute to his role at ACLRC. His approach emphasizes inclusive action and a commitment to community, as demonstrated through his work with various institutions in Alberta, including the Calgary Police Service, Alberta Human Rights Commission, Rotary, Stophateab, CanLearns, University of Calgary, and 12 Community Safety Initiative - 12CSI.

He has received several honors, such as Rotary International's Person of Action – Champion of Inclusion, Jewish Repairing the World Award, YMCA Peace Medal, Baha'i Community Racial Harmony Award, Muslim Community of Calgary Award, Alberta's Outstanding Contribution to Community Adult Learning Award, and the Calgary Police Service Chief's Award for Community Service. He has also been presented with an eagle feather, pipe, and the Blackfoot name Mikostahpinukum, meaning Red Morning.

Cam holds a Master's degree in Intercultural Communication from Royal Roads University and has provided expertise through keynote speeches, workshops, and strategic guidance to numerous organizations. He is an international best-selling author and researcher.
