"Tragedy Strikes Cocagne, N.B. as Two-Vehicle Collision Claims Two Lives

A devastating two-vehicle collision on Route 11, Cocagne, New Brunswick, has resulted in the loss of two lives. On August 15, 2025, at approximately 2:15 a.m., the Shediac RCMP detachment received a notification about the crash from a cellphone, followed by a 911 call reporting the collision.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers confirmed that a head-on collision had taken place, resulting in the fatalities of both drivers. One passenger was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, although they are not considered life-threatening.

The RCMP Collision Reconstructionist has been dispatched to the scene to investigate the cause of the collision. Members of Ambulance New Brunswick, the Cocagne and Saint-Antoine Fire Departments, and the New Brunswick Coroner's Office were also present at the scene, providing assistance and support.
