"Canadian Minister MacDonald Completes Successful Visit to Manila

Minister MacDonald has concluded his productive visit to Manila, Philippines, where he strengthened economic ties and advanced trade opportunities between Canada and the Philippines. The Minister met with Secretary of Agriculture Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. to discuss ways to deepen the bilateral economic partnership. The visit also saw the signing of a joint statement on technical collaboration between the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and the Philippines' Bureau of Plant Industry.

During his trip, Minister MacDonald engaged with key stakeholders and major importers of Canadian agri-food products to promote the quality, safety, and sustainability of Canadian agriculture. He also attended the World Food Expo (WOFEX), the largest food trade show in the Philippines, to support Canadian companies and showcase the Canada Brand in the Indo-Pacific region.
