Rising construction costs, labor shortages, and regulatory complexities have combined to make building a home in Australia increasingly challenging. As a result, many aspiring homeowners are being priced out of the market, exacerbating the nation's housing affordability crisis.

To address this critical issue, I have brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including builders, workers, and local councils, to explore innovative solutions for streamlining home construction processes. Through a series of action-oriented roundtable discussions, we are working collaboratively to identify practical strategies for accelerating the delivery of new homes.

Our commitment to tackling this issue is backed by the Albanese Government's historic investment in housing – the largest since World War II. While this investment is a significant step forward, we recognize that more needs to be done to address the scale and complexity of the problem. By convening key stakeholders and focusing on tangible outcomes, we aim to unlock the barriers to home construction and make the dream of homeownership a reality for more Australians.

Through this collaborative effort, we are working towards a future where affordable, high-quality homes are within reach of all Australians. By driving meaningful change and overcoming the obstacles to home construction, we can build a brighter, more sustainable future for our communities and our nation.
