Weston, who was a prominent figure in the fashion industry and dedicated her life to advocating for women, youth, and volunteerism, died as noted in her family's statement released on Sunday. They described her as someone defined by "enduring generosity and a deep commitment to helping others." In a tribute, her son, Galen Weston Jr., chairman and former president of Loblaw Companies Ltd., remarked, "Our mother lived with unwavering devotion to her family and held a strong belief in the power and importance of community and service." In October 1999, Hilary Weston delivered the throne speech at the Ontario Legislature, serving as a significant moment during her tenure as lieutenant-governor.
