In accordance with Nigeria's new visa policy, which aims to make admission easier for tourists, 8,352 Visas on Arrival were issued at the same time as the action. These numbers came out of a recent report that summarized the accomplishments of the NIS for August 2024.

According to the research, deporting foreign nationals is one way that Nigeria is addressing irregular migration.
In order to handle irregular migration, the NIS eased out 61 foreign nationals. 8,352 Visas on Arrival were made possible by the new Visa policy, according to the study.
The NIS has previously deported people of a similar nature. At least seventy foreign nationals were deported from Nigeria between 2020 and 2022.

As part of its attempts to stop illegal migration, the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) deported 61 foreign nationals from the nation in August 2024.
