Thank you to @diabetescanada for welcoming me at the historic Banting House in London, Ontario. Sonia Sidhu was joined by my colleague MP Peter Fragiskatos, to mark the 36th anniversary of the Flame of Hope and pay tribute to Sir Frederick Banting's groundbreaking discovery of insulin—a Canadian innovation that continues to save lives around the world.

Sonia was deeply humbled and honoured to receive a commemorative stone in recognition of my work in advancing Canada's National Framework for Diabetes—now enshrined in law—as we remain steadfast in our mission to find a cure for the nearly 3.7 million Canadians living with diabetes.

My sincere thanks to Shane Green and Glenn Thibeault of Diabetes Canada for this meaningful honour, and to Grant Maltman, curator of Banting House, for an inspiring and informative tour.

Sonia look forward to returning in November to celebrate two major milestones: the 40th anniversary of Banting House and the 50th anniversary of Diabetes Canada on World Diabetes Day.
