Nigeria's Voice of Nigeria (VON) to Start Broadcasting in Chinese Languages

Nigeria's Voice of Nigeria (VON) has announced plans to begin broadcasting in Chinese languages. This move is part of the organization's efforts to expand its reach and enhance cultural exchange between Nigeria and China. According to the Director-General of VON, Osita Okechukwu, the decision is in line with the increasing economic and diplomatic ties between the two nations.

VON, which currently broadcasts in several international languages, aims to leverage this new initiative to cater to the growing Chinese-speaking audience in Nigeria and across the world. The broadcast will include news, cultural programs, and other content designed to foster understanding and cooperation between the two countries.

The introduction of Chinese language broadcasts is expected to begin shortly, with dedicated programs targeting various aspects of Chinese culture, economy, and bilateral relations with Nigeria. The Director-General emphasized that this step is crucial for enhancing Nigeria's global influence and creating a better understanding of Nigeria within the Chinese community.

This development is also seen as a strategic move to position Nigeria as a key player in global broadcasting, particularly in Africa, where China has significant investments and partnerships. The initiative is expected to strengthen the bond between Nigeria and China, promoting cultural diversity and mutual respect.
