16 Individuals Detained in Illegal Mining Operation at Manso Adubia


On June 19, a coordinated effort against illegal mining, known as galamsey, led to the arrest of 16 individuals by the Ghana Police Service for unlawful mining activities in the Essuminya and Apraprama Forest Reserves located in the Ashanti Region.

A joint task force from the National Headquarters and the Manso Adubia District conducted a raid on the location, apprehending the suspects, which included one foreign national, Cheke Chen, who were caught in the act.

🔍 Items confiscated:
 • 2 Pump-action firearms
 • 4 Excavator monitors
 • Pumping machinery
 • 8 live BB cartridges

All detainees are currently in custody and are cooperating with police inquiries. The excavators are being transported to the police station and will soon be subjected to legal proceedings.
