The cold weather could not deter the Governor-General and over 25,000 Tillies supporters from attending GIO Stadium in Canberra last night for the match between the Matildas and Argentina! 🔥⚽

Tickets were sold out within a mere 10 minutes, resulting in a record attendance of 25,125 fans filling the stands, and it was exhilarating to witness the next generation of boys and girls entering the venue — wearing jerseys and harboring big dreams. 💚💛

The match itself was outstanding, fiercely contested by top athletes from both teams, with our Matildas emerging victorious with a score of 4–1!

The Governor-General expressed his delight in congratulating interim Coach Tom Sermanni and the team after the match, which included local hero and final goal-scorer Michelle Heyman, along with Minerva athlete Jada Whyman.
