The patient was a cheerful, energetic middle-aged man. In order to check his PSA level, which aids in the detection of prostate cancer, he went to see my girlfriend, a urologist. He had absolutely no health issues.

He was simply an active individual who preferred to act before symptoms appeared, unlike many others. He didn't want to make the same mistake that some of his pals had made by making them wait too long. My girlfriend was astonished to learn that his PSA level was over 1000 ng/mL, which is very high, when she received the results of his blood test. Even 10 ng/mL would be excessive for a man of his age. She set up a medical imaging appointment for him right away. The pictures revealed something that had been going on for a while, and she wasn't surprised this time. They had been headed in the correct path by the extremely high PSA level. He sobbed when she informed him of the diagnosis a few weeks later. Just two weeks prior, he had entered the office, feeling well and self-assured, promising not to die young.
