It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Jason Burke (JB) on March 4, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta. Jason's life was cut short due to a pulmonary embolism that led to cardiac arrest, leaving us with heavy hearts.

Jason was the devoted life partner of Tori, and together they had been creating a beautiful life in Calgary, proudly sharing their world with their beloved dog, Hemi.

A vibrant and passionate individual, Jason's unexpected departure is a painful reminder of life's fragility. It's difficult to comprehend such a loss when he dedicated himself to a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle.

His life was characterized by a commitment to helping others achieve their potential. As a CrossFit competitor and respected coach, Jason forged countless friendships and made a lasting impact on the Calgary CrossFit community. The overwhelming support from this community during his final days is a testament to the profound influence Jason had on so many lives. He genuinely cared about the well-being of others, both in body and mind, inspiring many of us to become better versions of ourselves through his guidance.

Before his time as a CrossFit coach, Jason served honorably in the Canadian Armed Forces, with two deployments to Afghanistan. His service fostered deep bonds with his comrades, and we appreciate the opportunity to connect with some of these friends during this difficult time.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the staff at the Foothills Hospital ICU Unit C for their exceptional care and compassion over the past week. Jason received outstanding medical attention, and his family and friends were treated with kindness and empathy during these trying days.

We will always cherish the love and care JB provided to our daughter during their two wonderful years together. The memories they created, along with those we share as an extended family, will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Plans for a celebration of Jason's life are underway, and we will provide further details as arrangements are finalized.
