A Nigerian national for attempting to smuggle 1.2 kg of cocaine

Last week, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence apprehended a Nigerian national for attempting to smuggle 1.2 kg of cocaine, valued at Rs 10 crore, from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, by ingesting capsules containing the drug.

Ane Charles Joseline, 30, arrived in the city on June 19. Acting on a tip-off, authorities inspected his luggage but did not discover any contraband. However, they detained him on suspicion and obtained court permission for an X-ray at JJ Hospital. The X-ray results indicated foreign objects in his abdominal area.
