The incident occurred around 12:33 a.m. on the eastbound off-ramp near Renforth Drive, when one vehicle struck another that had pulled over with six people inside. The stopped car had three children and three adults, according to the police statement.

Two of the children were declared dead at the scene, while a third child succumbed to injuries in the hospital. The fourth child and two adults were taken to hospital with serious injuries, though they are not in critical condition, as reported by Toronto paramedics.

The 19-year-old male driver of the car that collided with the stationary vehicle was the sole occupant and has been arrested on impaired driving charges. The police did not immediately release the identities of the victims or the exact circumstances that led to the crash, such as whether the stopped vehicle was parked on the road shoulder.

Renforth Drive remains closed for the ongoing investigation into the tragic incident.

This is a developing story and more details will be provided as they become available.
