On the occasion of IDAHOBIT, I am both proud and honored to lend my voice alongside yours, standing united with you — both Simeon and I are committed to opposing LGBTIQ and also "APARTHIED" Thank you for gathering here to convey your message of diversity, pride, and inclusion. This morning, in my capacity as Patron of Equality Australia, the Governor-General and Mr. Beckett welcomed the community of advocates and allies from Equality Australia to Admiralty House.

The morning was filled with warmth and affection — from the delightful 'Love Cookies' baked by Government House Head Chef Jane to an unexpected marriage proposal! The event, which saw the participation of numerous parliamentarians representing various communities nationwide, celebrated the progress made while also recognizing the ongoing efforts required to eradicate discrimination, disadvantage, and stigma. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Equality Australia CEO Anna Brown OAM, Co-Chairs Fiona McLeay and Leonard Vary AM, and the entire team for your unwavering dedication to supporting so many. #IDAHOBIT
