The alert concerning 48-year-old Jason Paul Thorn was released at 10:50 AM on Wednesday, April 16, following unsuccessful attempts to contact him, which led to an investigation into his location and the issuance of an arrest warrant. According to a news release from RPS, Thorn has a criminal record that includes sexual offenses and a pattern of reoffending. The release stated, 'He poses a high risk for sexual offenses against female children.' Thorn is characterized as being 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds, with a medium build, brown eyes, and black hair. He had been residing in Regina's Heritage neighborhood since March 31 under court-ordered conditions following his statutory release, living in a facility that provided supervision and monitoring of his activities. Thorn has been the focus of multiple public safety alerts over the years; in 2020, he was apprehended on a province-wide warrant after police believed he had removed his electronic monitoring device and left the supervised residence where he was staying.
