One individual is in critical condition following a shooting in southeast Calgary

One individual is in critical condition following a shooting in southeast Calgary, according to the Calgary Police Service.

On April 15, 2025, law enforcement responded to a shooting incident in the Albert Park neighborhood, specifically near the intersection of 12 Avenue SE and 27 Street SE, at approximately 6:50 p.m.

Authorities report that one person sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the shooting.

A local resident, Alexandria Lloyd, informed CityNews that she heard between 10 to 15 gunshots. "I was told that children in the park ran into the nearby apartment buildings for safety," she remarked. "It's frightening, especially since I have two three-year-olds at home."

While no information regarding the suspect has been released, police have stated that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
