On Friday, All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje led the party's National Working Committee in a visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Kaduna State.

This visit came just hours after the 2023 presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, led an opposition delegation in paying Sallah respects to the former president. The visiting delegation included prominent figures such as former Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai, former Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal, former Imo State Governor Achike Udenwa, former Benue Governor Gabriel Suswam, former Adamawa Governor Jibrilla Bindow, former Minister of Justice and Attorney General Abubakar Malami, and former Minister of Communications Isa Pantami. After the meeting, El-Rufai addressed reporters, clarifying that the visit was not politically motivated and urged "adversaries" not to worry.

While the results of the APC NWC's visit remain unclear, there are growing concerns regarding the potential exit of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) faction from the APC, particularly following the defection of several members to the Social Democratic Party.

The CPC was one of the four parties that merged in 2013 to form the APC, with Buhari being a prominent member of its faction. Despite the rumors, Buhari has reiterated his commitment to the APC, and it is well-known that he is a curious and diligent politician who values integrity.
