🔵 ONGOING INVESTIGATION 🔵

An investigation is currently underway regarding the accidental discharge of a Service-issued firearm at a Calgary Police Service district office.

📍 At approximately 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025, an officer accidentally fired one round from their Service-issued pistol within the Calgary Police Service District 2 office, situated at 4506 17 Ave. S.W.

Responding officers confirmed that there were no injuries reported inside the office and that the bullet exited the building through a second-story window, traveling in a southward direction. This trajectory includes the District 2 parking lot along 17 Avenue S.W. and the Glendale community across the street.

Investigators conducted a comprehensive search of the vicinity and engaged in neighborhood inquiries in Glendale to verify that no individuals were injured and that no property was damaged.

Currently, the bullet has not been recovered.

In accordance with CPS policy, the General Investigations Unit was promptly summoned to the scene to collect and preserve evidence. The Professional Standards Section will assess the incident to ensure adherence to CPS policies.
