Two men are currently in critical condition following a single-vehicle accident on Deerfoot Trail yesterday afternoon.

📍 At around 2:45 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, authorities received reports of a rollover incident involving a single vehicle with two occupants near Deerfoot Trail S.E. and 212 Avenue S.E.

Preliminary investigations suggest that a white 2008 GMC Savana van, operated by a man in his 30s, was heading south on Deerfoot Trail S.E. when it veered onto the center median. While on the median, the driver lost control, resulting in the vehicle rolling over. The van ascended the median slope and re-entered the roadway, rolling across all lanes of southbound Deerfoot Trail S.E. before finally coming to a stop on the right shoulder.

The driver sustained life-altering injuries and was taken to the hospital, while the passenger, also a man in his 30s, was transported in life-threatening condition.

Authorities do not believe that excessive speed or impairment contributed to the accident.
