Lucy Bronze has disclosed that a football shirt holds greater significance for her than the numerous medals and trophies she has accumulated throughout her career.

The England full-back is poised to compete for yet another title this weekend in the Women's League Cup final. Chelsea will face Manchester City at Pride Park on Saturday, with Bronze set to play against her former team.

A victory would mark the 33-year-old's third triumph in this tournament, following two previous wins during her time at City.

Although Bronze is a five-time Champions League champion, she has expressed that it is her England shirt that surpasses all her accolades in importance.

In a pre-final interview, she was asked which of her medals she finds most appealing. The defender responded to talkSPORT: "Interestingly, the item I never tire of looking at is not a trophy but rather my first England shirt.

"When I refer to my first shirt, I mean not the senior one, but the very first one I received at the age of 15, which I have framed. It is one of the few shirts I have displayed.

"It even has a small drop of Ribena on it. For some reason, that shirt holds a special place in my heart."

Bronze made her debut for England at the Under-17 level when she was just 15 years old, while playing for Blyth Town.
