The investigation conducted by BPS into drug-related activities has led to the apprehension of two individuals from Brantford. Authorities have confiscated cocaine, Xanax, and a sum of money.

The successful conclusion of a two-month investigation was facilitated by funding from the Ontario Government's Ministry of the Solicitor General, with the Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario playing a key role in the initiative known as Project RUSH.

In January 2025, the Brantford Police Criminal Intelligence Unit initiated an investigation focused on individuals involved in the possession of cocaine for trafficking purposes. During the early stages of the project, law enforcement identified a male suspect believed to be engaged in cocaine trafficking within Brantford and its neighboring areas.

As a result of the investigation, on March 6, 2025, police apprehended the male suspect outside an establishment on Dalhousie Street in Brantford, based on reasonable grounds that he was in possession of cocaine intended for trafficking.

Upon his arrest, the suspect was found with approximately 7.2 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine, valued at around $700, as well as a significant amount of Canadian currency.

Subsequently, police executed a search warrant at a residence in Burford, where they discovered:
- 194 grams of suspected cocaine, estimated to have a street value of $19,400
- Xanax tablets, with an estimated street value of $3,200
- A substantial amount of Canadian currency

As a result of this investigation, a 29-year-old man from Brantford has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I substance, specifically cocaine, in violation of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule IV substance, specifically benzodiazepine (Xanax), in violation of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Additionally, a 30-year-old woman from Brantford has been charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I substance, specifically cocaine, in violation of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
