Poilievre's unfavourability rating has reached a record high.

A recent survey conducted by the Angus Reid Institute indicates that Liberal leadership contender Mark Carney (+9%) holds a significant lead over Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre (-19%) in terms of net favourability, with a margin of 28 points. Poilievre's unfavourability has now peaked, as 56% of Canadians express a negative view of the Conservative leader.

Carney's advantage over Poilievre is particularly pronounced among women, where he leads by 44 points, and among Canadians aged 18 to 34, where the margin is 43 points.

Notably, Mark Carney enjoys a higher favourability rating in Quebec (51%) compared to other regions in Canada, while Pierre Poilievre's positive impressions are lowest in this province, standing at just 24%.

Additionally, Carney is favored over Poilievre by 9 points as the most suitable candidate to engage with the Trump administration.

Mark Carney is currently positioned as the leading candidate to succeed Justin Trudeau as the leader of the Liberal Party.
