J.Saunders has been appointed Chief of Police for the Brantford Police Services

Jason Saunders has been appointed Chief of Police for the Brantford Police Service (BPS) with effect from February 28, 2025, according to a statement released by the Brantford Police Services Board.

Having begun his policing career as a constable with the Brantford Police Service in 2000, Chief Saunders brings more than 20 years of devoted service and leadership experience to this position. Chief Saunders has risen through the ranks of the service, holding a variety of jobs over his tenure. Frontline patrol, specialist investigation units, and leadership posts like Inspector, Deputy Chief, and most recently, Interim Chief of Police, have all been a part of his career. His dedication to officer welfare, community policing, and contemporary policing techniques has greatly influenced the service's public safety philosophy.
