 Highway 1A was closed for a few hours on Tuesday due to a grass fire west of Calgary. On Tuesday afternoon, firefighters from the Cochrane area responded to a grass fire near Ghost Lake, which is located west of Calgary, right off Highway 1A. According to Cochrane RCMP, the fire was raging on the north side of Ghost Lake, between Range Road 60 and Morley Road. 
Environment Canada reported steady winds of 30 km/h with gusts of up to 40 km/h on the warm, 10 C afternoon when the fire started.
