Man fatally shot by police in southeast Calgary

During a conflict in the southeast part of the city on Wednesday morning, local police shot and killed a guy.  Around 10:30 a.m., police say they were called to a domestic dispute at a mobile home park in the 6200 block of 17th Avenue S.E.
"A person in crisis was involved in the incident," stated Staff Sgt. Kevin Dyrgas. "One man fled the house with a knife and ran toward officers when the police arrived." "Officers promptly administered first aid, but the person was declared dead at the scene," stated Dyrgas in the article. According to CPS, no officers were hurt during the altercation.According to Dyrgas, an elderly resident of the house was transported in an ambulance. He was unable to confirm whether the home had previously been the scene of a police call. Dyrgas stated that the police department will not be commenting more because the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team is now investigating the incident.
